The mugs, plates, key chains, ashtrays … and now the PEZ dispensers.
Just when images of Prince William and Kate Middleton seem to have graced every imaginable memorabilia under the Union Jack, there comes one more.
A pair, actually.
The Austrian candy maker PEZ, also known for its collectible dispensers, has produced a pair of the pocket-sized devices in the likeness of William and Kate to mark their April 29 wedding.
The company calls it a unique opportunity for collectors and for fans of William and Kate to own a wholly original collector’s item.
The items will be auctioned on ebay.co.uk to raise money for charity. The company says offers can be made on the “eBay for Charity” auction platform from April 7 to 17.
PEZ, founded in 1927, made its name with a compressed peppermint candy that was sold in small tin dispensers.
Later, the company put heads of famous personalities on the dispensers and many were regarded as collector’s items.
The company says it now makes 80 million dispensers and 4.6 billion candies annually, and sells them around the world.
