RIVERSIDE, CA (NEWS1130) – A California man faces the death penalty, while two others have been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted in the murder of a Tsawwassen businessman.
Bill Dobbs was on vacation in Indio, California back in November 2007 when he was brutally killed. His mutilated body was found on the side of the road.
During the trial, the court heard about how the three killers, all in their 30’s, had apparently lured Dobbs from a casino to an apartment. He was then tortured into giving up his bank PIN before his throat was slashed.
Two others accused in the robbery and killing are set to go to trial this summer.
Dobbs, a father, grandfather, and avid golfer from Tsawwassen, had been in California with his common law wife at their vacation home.
Indio is about 37 kilometres southeast of Palm Springs.
