VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) –  The BC Lions have confirmed that they have reached agreement on a contract with Canadian offensive lineman Kirby Fabien.

Fabien was originally drafted by the Lions in 2012 but chose to return for his 2012 season with the University of Calgary, where he was a nominee for the J.P. Metras Award as the outstanding lineman in the CIS.

Fabien’s deal comes as the Lions have signed all five elegible players from this year’s CFL Draft, including Laval receiver S.J. Haidara, defensive backs Matt McGarva (University of Windsor), UBC defensive back Matt Walker of Vernon, St Mary’s offensive lineman Matthew Albright, and Guelph defensive lineman Cameron Thorn.

All six rookies will be ready for the team’s three-day mini-camp beginning Thursday, May 30th at Kamloops Thompson Rivers University.

The veterans report on June 2nd.
