Three-year-old dies of injuries from Saltspring Island crash

SALTSPRING ISLAND (NEWS1130) – A three-year-old girl has died of her injuries after a head-on crash on Saltspring Island yesterday.

She passed away last night at BC Children’s Hospital.

The girl’s mother and five-year-old sister are still in hospital with serious injuries.

“This is a very difficult time for those directly affected, and the entire community of Saltspring Island,” says Sergeant George Jenkins, Detachment Commander for the RCMP on Saltspring Island.

“We will continue to investigate the cause of this crash, and remain committed to supporting the families involved in the difficult times ahead,” he adds.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.
