CHILLIWACK (NEWS1130) – Two people are dead after an early morning shooting in Chilliwack.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has confirmed three people were shot at a home on Gore Avenue.
Two died while a third was taken to the hospital.
Homicide investigators have not released the names of any of the victims and Sergeant Bari Emam of IHIT says they’re still putting the pieces together.
“We don’t have a specific motive or the circumstances which may have lead to the incident. We’re obviously working to get those answers, but at this point this incident has all the earmarks of a targeted shooting.”
Police have not updated the condition of the surviving victim.
“I can confirm that this shooting has resulted in the deaths of two adult individuals and a third person has been injured. Our investigators are working closely with members of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment to advance this case. It is too early to discuss motive or the specific circumstances surrounding this incident, however, this incident appears to be targeted, ” says Emam.
IHIT is asking anyone who was in the area of 46100 block of Gore Avenue in Chilliwack between 3:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. on August 7, 2014 who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or has witnessed anything in relation to this incident to please call the IHIT Tipline at 1-877-551-4448 by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
