Delta activates Emergency Operations Centre

DELTA (NEWS 1130) – There is localized flooding in the Boundary Bay/Beach Grove areas due to the windstorm, prompting the Corporation of Delta to activate its Emergency Operations Centre.
There is also flooding in the Downtown Ladner Waterfront area.
“The high tide peaked around 6 a.m., so the water is slowly receding. However, it’s the wind that continues to be an issue,” reports City’s Greg Harper from the area.
“I’m seeing lots of water splashing up against the sea wall. We have some yards that have been flooded here. Not far from Boundary Bay is Beach Grove. I’m hearing the flooding there is a little bit worse than here. Centennial Beach, there’s flooding there on the pathway, as well. I’m hearing of flooding at the Ladner Yacht Club, as well. Lots of residents are coming down to take a look.”
People are being asked to stay away from the shoreline as a safety precaution.
