RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – A contract with the BC government’s gambling division has a Swedish company building an online casino studio in the Vancouver area. The BC Lottery Corporation has a five-year agreement with Evolution Gaming, which will stream video of 10 actual tables offering blackjack, roulette and baccarat through the PlayNow website.
“It’s a real-time table game, hosted by a live dealer which can be seen online by our players via a live video streaming link,” explains the BCLC’s Doug Cheng.
Evolution says the studio will occupy 16,000 square feet of space and create more than 170 jobs over an unspecified time. Its announcement contains no financial details.
Cheng explains how it will work. “You go onto PlayNow.com and then there’s a live video link and you’ll see the game happening in real time through the video link at the studio. And then you’re playing online on your mobile device or on your computer.”
The games will be available for 16 hours a day.
Evolution has its eye on selling the Live Casino service to other provincial lottery corporations.
