Police search for man suspected of attacking two teenagers on SkyTrain

METRO VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Transit Police are looking for a suspect they believe assaulted two teenagers, 14 and 16, on the SkyTrain travelling between Port Moody and Coquitlam last month.

Police say a man was unprovoked when he punched one of the teen boys in the face. He apparently attempted to attack the second, and missed, but the boy fell back and hit his head on the wall.

The attack happened between Moody Centre station and Coquitlam Central station around noon on October 4.

“The suspect felt that the boys were staring at him, and that’s what enraged him, completely unprovoked from the side of the two teens,” Sgt. Clint Hampton says. “The suspect walked up to one of the teens, punched him in the face, he then turned his attention to the other teen.”

One of the boys got a black eye in the altercation. Both had minor injuries and they have recovered.

Police say they didn’t come forward about this incident because they were conducting the investigation. Now they’re asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect.

He’s described as a white man with thin black hair and dark facial hair. He was wearing a black and grey hooding grey pants, running shoes and dark sunglasses.

If you have information, you’re asked to contact Transit Police at 604-515-8300 or text 87-77-77 and reference file 18-18399.
