8-year-old safe after falling off chairlift on Grouse Mountain

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – There were some dramatic moments on Grouse Mountain late Wednesday afternoon as an eight-year-old boy dangled off a chairlift.

Witnesses say he slipped off the Screaming Eagle just before 4 p.m. and was left hanging as people beneath scrambled to catch him.

They managed to use a snow fence for the boy to drop onto.

According to Grouse Mountain the boy had no serious injuries but was attended by mountain patrol and taken to hospital as a precaution.

“We are still in the process of looking into the incident,” read a statement from Grouse Mountain. “Safety is always our top priority.”
