Military, Coast Guard end search for missing person in English Bay

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — On Friday, the Coast Guard and the military were involved in a joint search for a missing person in English Bay off Vancouver but have since ended the pursuit.

A rescue helicopter from Canadian Forces Base Comox and a number of Coast Guard vessels searched for a person “who fell overboard a commercial vessel on Friday morning,” according to Michelle Imbeau, a Canadian Coast Guard spokesperson.

“The incident is now considered a missing persons case,” and is being handed over to the RCMP and Vancouver Police Department.
