Racist attack at UBC against an Asian woman

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Mounties are trying to find the man responsible for a racist attack at the UBC campus in Vancouver over the weekend.
RCMP say shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, a woman was taking out the garbage on University Boulevard near the Aquatic Centre when a stranger walked up to her, used a racial slur, and then punched her in the head and stomach before running away.
Mounties say it was a completely unprovoked attack.
The woman was taking the garbage out at 8:10p when this happened Saturday night. The closest intersection is University Blvd & Alison Road. @ubcprez has also said he was horrified to hear about the reported "misogynistic attack in the neighbourhood adjacent to UBC." @NEWS1130

The victim hid and called 911. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
The suspect is described as a tall man with a medium build. He was wearing a hoodie, sweatpants, runners, and a dark face mask.
“This investigation is in the early stages and we are not ruling any motives including that this crime had an element of bias or hate involved,” RCMP said in a news release.
In a tweet, UBC quotes president and vice-chancellor Santa J. Ono: “I was horrified to hear of the reported racist and misogynistic attack in the neighbourhood adjacent to UBC.”
