The shooting involved two vehicles, with Surrey RCMP confirming shots were fired at the intersection of 73 Avenue and 128 Street at around 8:45 p.m. between people in a silver SUV and a white Jeep.
Police say the incident is tied to drug trafficking and gang activity.

Both cars sped away, but the Jeep crashed into a telephone pole nearly three blocks away at 76 Avenue and 128 Street, with the occupants running away. Eventually, police were able to track down the two uninjured men.
The driver and passenger of the Jeep are currently in police custody.
Cpl. Vanessa Munn tells NEWS 1130, the two suspects, an 18 and 19-year-old man, are known to police.
“At this point in time, charges have not officially been laid as the investigation is still ongoing,” she says.
The sliver SUV has not been located.
“It’s always concerning any shooting any time of day. Especially given the nature of the fact that it occurred in public — when people choose to do this, they are putting other members of the public at risk. We take this very seriously, and we have members that are working around the clock because we want to hold those people that are, that do these kinds of brazen actions responsible,” Munn says.
In a release, Surrey RCMP says investigators will be canvassing the Newton area throughout the weekend.
This comes less than a day after Burnaby RCMP responded to reports of shots fired near an elementary school.
