Homicide investigators say a deadly stabbing in Abbotsford’s Inspiration Park Tuesday afternoon was targeted, but likely not linked to gangs.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified 30-year-old Cody Corbett as the man found with stabbed in the park.
While on a routine patrol around 2:20 p.m., an officer was flagged down at the intersection of Emerson Street and Simon Avenue to help a man suffering from stab wounds.

Although Corbett was known to police and IHIT says it believes the stabbing was not a random, it also says there are no known connections to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
“Mr. Corbett lived a transient lifestyle but had contact with people in the community,” Sgt. David Lee wrote in a statement. “Anyone who knew of his activities is being asked to call IHIT.”
