Suspect sought in connection to Surrey bank robbery

Surrey RCMP is asking the public for help finding a suspect wanted in connection to a bank robbery earlier this month.

On March. 1 just before 4 p.m. RCMP were called to a bank on 152 Street near 88 Avenue over reports of a robbery.

According to Mounties, the suspect, who was waiting in line to see a teller, shoved a customer and grabbed an envelope full of cash from the teller. The suspect then fled the scene on a yellow bike.

Police searched the area and deployed the Integrated Police Dog Service however, they did not find the suspect. The teller and the customer were shaken up by the incident, but police say they were not physically injured.

The suspect is described as approximately 30-years-old with a medium build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing dark jeans, a black jacket with fur lined hood, blue medical mask, black hat with yellow and navy circular logo, black shoes with white soles and black gloves.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
