Kelowna stabbing leaves one dead, RCMP investigating

Kelowna Mounties are an investigating a stabbing Monday night that caused one man to pass away.

According to RCMP, they responded to calls at around 8:45 p.m. when they found a 38-year-old man who had been stabbed.

The victim was near the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Gordon Drive, and although he was taken to hospital he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

“Investigators have learned there was a verbal altercation between the individuals involved that led to the stabbing. The victims and suspect were not known to one another,” said Cpl. Tammy Lobb, Media Relations Officer for the Kelowna RCMP.

A 28-year-old man who was passing by was also injured in the incident however, he has been released from hospital.

Mounties say a 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is in custody while police investigate.
