Man found unresponsive in Surrey identified, IHIT

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the man found dead in a running vehicle in Surrey on Tuesday in the 8800-block of 127th Street.

Police identified 27-year-old Richard Ofosuhene from Edmonton, Alberta as the victim.

“Mr. Ofosuhene was known to police and had ties to drug trafficking in Alberta,” IHIT said in news release Wednesday.

Investigators do not believe this incident is connected to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict, but have not yet figured out a motive.

When first responders arrived at the scene Tuesday, they found a man inside a running vehicle with injuries that were consistent with being shot.
