Police in Vancouver are releasing an image of an alleged arson suspect in relation to a fire at the city’s Chinese Cultural Centre Sunday.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says it is making the images public hoping that someone will recognize the suspect and come forward to police.
Vancouver Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) says crews were called after noticing smoke coming from the rear of the cultural centre’s building. Crews said Sunday it was “suspicious,” and VPD took over the investigation.
“This fire caused extensive smoke and water damage to the building, and it has been extremely upsetting to the community. Thankfully, no one was injured,” Const. Tania Visintin said.
