Burnaby RCMP look to identify suspect connected to $75,000 fraud case

Mounties in Burnaby are hoping to identify a man who is suspected of defrauding a victim out of $75,000 last year.

According to the Burnaby RCMP, a victim had reported his wallet had been stolen in October 2022. The victim reported his debit and credit cards were used for fraudulent purchases.

Police say the man’s cards were used to withdraw a “large sum” of cash at an ATM near Metrotown, with his credit cards used to make purchases throughout Metro Vancouver.

The RCMP is sharing a photo of a suspect with the hope the public can help identify them.

“This type of crime can cause financial and emotional hardships,” said Corp. Mike Kalanj. If you recognize this suspect, please give our investigators a call.”
