The search for a CityNews 1130 morning co-anchor is over, with Olivia Jones set to join the Vancouver team on-air this August.
Olivia is no stranger to the local media landscape. Born and raised in Richmond, she began her career in 2005 at The Beat in Vancouver.
There, she started hosting the overnight show. She would eventually move on to co-host afternoon drive, where she read news and traffic.
In 2011, Olivia joined QMFM where she hosted the midday show for 11 years. Throughout her time there, she sharpened her storytelling and interviewing skills.
In 2021, she became the fill-in weather anchor at CTV Morning Live Vancouver, learning the art of forecasting and gaining experience on-camera with that team.
Having been a long-time listener of CKWX, Olivia says she’s thrilled to be back on the air with CityNews.
“As a suburban mom who was born and raised in Metro Vancouver, I have a deep appreciation and understanding of the concerns of the residents here,” she said.
Olivia has a passion for local news and hopes to bring that into her storytelling.
You’ll be able to catch Olivia on-air every weekday morning alongside Terry Schintz from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. starting later this month.
