Vancouver police search for man wanted on Canada-wide warrant
Vancouver police are looking for a 27-year-old man who failed to report to his halfway house upon release from prison Thursday.
According to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), a Canada-wide warrant has now been issued for Harjot Singh Samra, who is described as a federal offender charged with a number of drug and weapons offences.
The VPD says the man was last seen driving in the area of Cambie Street and Marine Drive around 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10.

“They attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Samra drove away at a high rate of speed,” police say, adding several new charges are being recommended.
Samra is described as 5’9″ tall and weighs 252 lbs. with a heavy build. He has brown/black hair with a balding hairline, and brown eyes.
Police say he was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black shorts with white detailing, and was carrying a black duffle bag.
Investigators are asking anyone with information or who sees Samra to call 911 right away.
