Charges laid in Abbotsford stabbing

Charges have been laid in connection with a stabbing in Abbotsford earlier this month that left two people with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) says it happened on Sept. 16 just before 7 p.m. at an apartment complex on McCallum Road near Rainbow Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found two victims with “serious, life-threatening stab wounds.”

Police say a suspect was found nearby suffering from “serious, self-inflicted injuries.”



Investigators say 33-year-old Tu Cuong Tran is facing two charges of aggravated assault in relation to the incident.

Police add the investigation indicates the event was a result of intimate partner violence.
