Pedestrian seriously hurt after getting hit by bus in Surrey: RCMP

Mounties say a pedestrian has been seriously hurt after they were hit by a transit bus in Surrey Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 3:15 p.m. at King George Boulevard and 96 Avenue, near Surrey Memorial Hospital, according to the RCMP.

“Surrey RCMP are asking motorists to avoid this area if possible and expect traffic delays as the investigation continues,” said Sgt. Tammy Lobb.

Metro Vancouver Transit Police say a man was taken to the hospital with serious lower-body injuries as a result of the collision.

TransLink confirms to CityNews that one of its buses was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on Tuesday afternoon.
