Police in Burnaby are asking for the public’s help to find a suspect they believe robbed a man in late September.
The Burnaby RCMP says the incident happened on Sept. 27 in a parkade just before 1:30 a.m. near Dominion Street and Sumner Avenue.
Police say the victim was sitting in his car when the suspect allegedly opened his car door, assaulted him, and then stole $3,300 in cash.
“Extensive patrols were conducted in the area; however, the suspect was not located,” Corp. Michael Kalanj said in a statement Thursday.
This type of crime can be traumatic to the victims and their families,” Kalanj added. “
Please contact our investigators if you have any information that can assist in identifying this individual.“
Photos released by police of the wanted suspect show him wearing a black jacket, black Adidas sweatpants with white stripes on the side, and a black hat.
Mounties are urging anyone who may have information regarding the robbery, or know the identity of the suspect, to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
