Mission RCMP looking for owners of cocaine found in bathroom

Police are seeking the rightful owner of several packages of cocaine concealed in a Mission bathroom.

The Mission RCMP says half a kilogram of cocaine was located in the ceiling of a public restroom on Nov. 16.

A maintenance person doing some work on the building opened up a ceiling panel to discover the cocaine hidden inside, according to police.

Mounties say the cocaine was split into multiple packages, which they believe was likely placed in the ceiling as a handoff between dealers.

The owner of the drugs has not yet been identified, but police add if someone wants to report the drugs as lost or stolen, they can call the Mission RCMP.

An interview will be set up in jail cell number three, police say, and the person must bring proof that the drugs are theirs.

“Please bring proof of purchase,” the RCMP said.

Police add the placement of toxic drugs in a public place where anyone could stumble across them is dangerous, due to the potential of someone being unknowingly exposed to the substance.
