2 arrested in Williams Lake, B.C. after dead infant brought to hospital: police

Mounties in Williams Lake, B.C. say two people have been arrested after a 32-year-old man brought a dead infant child to a hospital on Friday.

The Williams Lake RCMP say a second child was found with non-life-threatening injuries and brought to hospital to be assessed.

Police say the man and a 33-year-old woman “were arrested and have subsequently been released.”

Mounties say this is believed to be an isolated incident that presents no further risk to the public. The RCMP did not specify the relationship between the adults and children.

Police explain this investigation remains ongoing and it is being conducted by the BC RCMP Major Crime Section.

The Ministry of Children and Family Development is now involved as well.
