Drivers urged to prepare for snow along Sea to Sky highway

Drivers who plan to be on the Sea to Sky Highway are being urged by Environment Canada to prepare for snow this week.

The agency says up to 20 centimetres of snow could fall on the highway from Wednesday evening until midday Friday. A total of 15 cm of snow is also expected for Whistler during this time.

Mixed rain and snow in the forecast will change over to snow on Wednesday evening, Environment Canada adds.

Drivers are being told to take extra care while out on the roads, with Environment Canada warning that “visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.”
