Richmond Mounties seek public’s help in pedestrian fatality case

The RCMP is asking the public for help in its investigation of a pedestrian fatality in Richmond.

Police responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle soon after 6 p.m. Feb. 1 in the area of Cambie Road and Bargen Drive.

The pedestrian, who was in his 80s, was taken to hospital and died two weeks later.

The driver of the vehicle — a light-coloured BMW sedan — remained at the scene and was cooperative. Police say alcohol or drugs were not involved.

The Richmond Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken over the case.

Mounties are asking anyone with any information or dash cam footage to call them at 604-278-1212 and quote file 2024-3568.
