Massey Tunnel to close nightly for several days next week

The George Massey Tunnel in Richmond will close overnight for several nights next week for upgrades to the lane control system, DriveBC says.
From April 4 to April 8, the tunnel will close every night from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. northbound.
Southbound, closures will start at 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday until 5 a.m.
Traffic will be detoured to the Alex Fraser Bridge.
“Measures will be in place to help reduce congestion and keep traffic moving as much as possible along the detour route, however, delays can be expected and travellers should plan accordingly or allow for extra time,” the Ministry of Transportation said.
Emergency vehicles and late-night service buses will have access to the tunnel “with an escort vehicle,” the ministry says.
