Vancouver police arrest man for indecent exposure near school playground

The Vancouver Police Department says a 43-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly engaging in indecent exposure near a Killarney school playground.

The VPD says the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and was reported to police by a “concerned parent.”

“Patrol officers quickly responded and arrested the … suspect. He’s in custody,” the VPD said Thursday.

In a statement to CityNews, police say they aren’t naming the school, however, they note children were present in the playground at the time of the alleged offence.

“He has had lots of interactions with police over the years,” Const. Tania Visintin said of the suspect.

Police say a charge of indecent exposure is being recommended to Crown. The suspect is expected to appear in court Thursday.
