Mission RCMP looking for witnesses to apparent hit-and-run

A 20-year-old man was left with non-life-threatening injuries after an apparent hit-and-run in Mission last month, Mounties say.

The Mission RCMP is now looking for witnesses to the incident, which it notes sent the man to hospital on Tuesday, March 26.

Police say the man, who was wearing a grey and black jacket, a grey hoodie, and blue jeans at the time, had just gotten off the #32 bus around 8 p.m. in the area of 7th Avenue and Blott Street in that city.

“He only walked a short distance before an unknown event occurred, leaving the man injured in the middle of the roadway. Fortunately, he was eventually able to make it back to his residence nearby, to get help from his family,” Corp. Harrison Mohr said in an update Tuesday.

“This is a bit of a strange occurrence, as the victim has very little memory of the incident,” Mohr added.

Police believe the victim was struck by the vehicle on the north side of the intersection.

“We’re asking the driver of that vehicle, or anyone who saw what happened, to call Mission RCMP, so we can help determine what happened.”

The Mission RCMP can be contacted at 604-826-7161.
