Man arrested after alleged threat to shoot Vancouver gas station employee

A 66-year-old man, once on parole for a 1981 murder, is back behind bars after allegedly threatening a Vancouver gas station clerk this weekend.

The Vancouver Police Department says the man was arrested around 4 p.m. Saturday after leaving the business on East Broadway and Clark Drive.

When the man learned that his “points card wouldn’t work,” police say he allegedly said he’d return to shoot an employee.

Gas station staff then called police, and the man was subsequently arrested.

“It was later revealed the man was on parole for a 1981 murder when he shot a police officer,” police said.

“His parole has now been revoked, he’s in jail, and a new charge for uttering threats has been recommended.”
