Pattullo Bridge reopens after fatal crash overnight

Three people are dead and one seriously injured in a major crash involving a semi truck on the Pattullo Bridge Friday Night. Cecilia Hua has more.

A fatal multi-vehicle crash on the Pattullo Bridge shut down traffic overnight, but traffic has since reopened in both directions.

The Surrey Police Service says the crash involved a semi-truck and two passenger vehicles on the east end of the bridge.



Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton they were called out to the accident just after 10 p.m. Friday.

“Surrey Fire and BCEHS administered life-saving measures to three occupants at the scene, but sadly, they were declared deceased,” Houghton said.

“One other occupant of one of the passenger vehicles was transported to hospital for life-saving measures. At this early stage, the extent of the surviving occupant’s injuries is unknown.”



The semi-truck driver was unhurt and remained on scene.

“Both the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service and the RCMP Provincial Operation Support Unit Criminal Collision Investigation Team have been called in to assist,” Houghton said.

“At this early stage, the cause of the collision is unknown.”
