The annual Honda Celebration of Light in Vancouver will feature exclusively Canadian pyrotechnic teams this year.
Organizers say the 33rd edition of the three-day fireworks event over English Bay will boast a lineup of performances by technicians from Yukon, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

“The last several months have proven to be a challenging period for our great nation. However, the circumstances have also contributed to a wave of nationalism that is unprecedented,” said Michael McKnight, co-chair of the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society.
“It’s in that spirit that we are wrapping our 2025 event in the Canadian flag and celebrating everything that is great about this country.”
In recent years, teams from Portugal, Malaysia, the U.K., Australia, Mexico, the Philippines, Japan, and Spain have lit up the sky over Vancouver.
Mayor Ken Sim expressed that the city still welcomes “visitors from across the country and around the world” to the celebration.
The Royal Canadian Air Force’s 431 Air Demonstration Squadron Snowbirds, and a Honda-sponsored drone show will also present alongside the three Canadian pyrotechnic teams.
The Honda Celebration of Lights is scheduled for the evenings of Saturday, July 19, Wednesday, July 23, and Saturday, July 26.
