A second man has been arrested in connection with a double shooting in Surrey late last year.
According to the Surrey Police Service, just before 6 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2024, police responded to a report from a woman saying that she and her husband had been shot outside a home on 67B Avenue near 126 Street.
“In their car nearby, was a young child who was unharmed. Both victims have been taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton shared in a statement at the time.
Police said more than one suspect was seen driving away from the incident in a dark-coloured sedan.
An RCMP Surrey support unit for serious crimes took over the investigation, and in late January of this year, a 21-year-old Squamish man was arrested.
In an update Friday, the SPS announced that a second suspect had been arrested in Quebec on April 22.
A 22-year-old was reportedly taken into custody by Quebec RCMP Integrated Border Enforcement officers near the U.S. border.

The second suspect is charged with one count each of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and two counts each of discharging a firearm with intent to wound, and assault with a weapon.
He remains in custody and is expected in court on May 15.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information to share is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 24-179884 (SU).
