Video of the incident shows the suspect and victim on the sidewalk around 3 p.m. The suspect appears to shove the victim from behind, and jab a knife towards the victim’s face before walking eastbound.

Police say the 62-year-old victim was not injured, and reported the incident later that day.

The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 35 and 45, with a thin build. He was wearing dark pants a dark jacket and a baseball cap.

“Police do not believe the victim and suspect knew each other, and the motive is unclear,” the VPD explained Thursday.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call investigators at 604-717-4022.
