Stabbing in Abbotsford sends one to hospital

One person is in the hospital after an overnight stabbing in Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford police says officers responded to reports of a stabbing around 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, police found a 39-year-old man with stab wounds near Busby Road and McCallum Road.

He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe there was an altercation on Cannon Avenue before the victim was located on McCallum Road.

There is no word on any arrests.

The Abbotsford Police Department’s major crime unit has taken over the investigation, suggesting that it was a targeted incident without an ongoing threat to public safety.
