Health-care worker assaulted outside Vancouver General Hospital

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is investigating the assault of a health-care worker that occurred Monday night just outside Vancouver General Hospital.
Officers say they responded to a call shortly after 7 p.m., locating a woman near a parkade adjacent to the hospital.

Additionally, the BC Emergency Health Services says paramedics provided emergency medical treatment and transported the woman to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
The VPD has confirmed the victim is a hospital staff member and is currently receiving treatment.
The cause of her injuries is still unclear, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
The Vancouver Police Major Crime Section has taken over the investigation.
