New Westminster Police used Taser on suspect

The New Westminster Police reported that they used a Taser on a man suspected of assault during an incident in the Queensborough neighbourhood on July 31.

The situation unfolded when a pedestrian called 911 after hearing breaking glass and witnessing what appeared to be an assault inside a home.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a man exiting the residence, visibly covered in blood.

Police say he refused to comply with their demands as he walked toward the officers.

In response, they used a Taser on the man and took him into custody.

Further details regarding the case have not yet been released.
