Abbotsford International Airshow takes off; road closures in effect

Starting Friday and continuing throughout the weekend, Abbotsford will experience heavy traffic due to the Abbotsford International Airshow.

Several road closures are in effect, including Huntingdon Road between Mount Lehman and Townline Road.

Hamm Street and Queen Street, which are all in proximity to the airport, will be closed too.

The event includes exhibits, food trucks, and air performances by the Snowbirds, the military aerobatics flight team of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

This year’s show will feature the Harbour Air eBeaver, the world’s first fully electric commercial aircraft, developed in collaboration with magniX.

Visitors can also check out the STEM Zone with interactive exhibits, and a variety of food trucks.

Additionally, the event will showcase the Pivotol Helix, a next-generation electric VTOL aircraft.

The show runs through the weekend, wrapping up Sunday, and is open to all ages.
