The Richmond RCMP is responding to an unfolding incident in Richmond on Monday.

According to police, the BC RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit responded to an apartment near River Road and Brighouse after 12:15 p.m.

Mounties say the area has been contained and are asking the public to remain out of the area.
