Sexual assault in White Rock: police ask for public assistance

Mounties in White Rock are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a reported sexual assault on Friday morning.
The RCMP says the incident occurred around 10 a.m. near Everall Street and Prospect Avenue.

The victim sustained minor physical injuries, according to police.
“Based on the initial information, investigators believe that this was an unprovoked assault,” White Rock RCMP said in a news release.
The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old man, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a grey hoodie, khaki pants, and white shoes.
“Given the violent nature of this assault, we are encouraging members of our community to exercise vigilance while our investigators work to identify and locate the suspect,” said Staff Sgt. Rob Dixon.
Witnesses or anyone with dash cam or surveillance video from the area are being urged to contact the White Rock RCMP at 778-545-4800.
