“The woman’s injuries appear serious. The child was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons,” VPD Sgt. Steve Addison told 1130 NewsRadio.
Surveillance video from the crash scene show that the vehicle, a grey SUV, was traveling eastbound on West 16th Avenue.
“We believe she was pushing a stroller at the time,” Addison added.
The intersection remains closed for as long as officers from the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) are on scene and investigating the crash.
The VPD recommends using West 12th Avenue as an alternative.

The BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) says it received a call after 12:30 p.m.
“Two ambulances with primary care paramedics and an ambulance with advanced care paramedics responded to the scene,” Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites told 1130 NewsRadio.
After paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to both pedestrians, they were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
