RCMP makes arrest after multiple fires set in Coquitlam’s Maillardville neighbourhood

Mounties in Coquitlam have made an arrest in connection with a series of fires in Maillardville late last month.

Between Sept. 27 and Sept. 30, at least four fires were reported in the area, all within a few blocks of the Maillardville Community Centre.

All of the fires occurred between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. In one instance, a building on Hachey Avenue close to Therrien Street had to be evacuated.

It is unclear whether the police believe the same suspect is responsible for all fires.

No injuries were reported.
