Pedestrian taken to hospital after crash in Richmond

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after a crash at Steveston Highway and Mortfield Gate in Richmond Saturday afternoon, according to the RCMP.
Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly before 4:20 p.m.

“BCEHS dispatched two vehicles to the scene,” a spokesperson for the Provincial Health Services Authority said.
“One patient was transferred to hospital from the scene.”
Photos show a car with heavy damage. As well, a badly damaged RCMP cruiser is visible at the scene. On Monday, police confirmed the cruiser was involved in a separate and unrelated collision nearby.
