Fire at Plaza of Nations thought to be arson, Vancouver police say

A fire at Plaza of Nations Monday evening was likely caused by arson, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) tells CityNews.
VPD Const. Darren Wong says police were called to assist Vancouver Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) shortly before 8 p.m.
“At this time, it is believed that the cause of the fire is due to suspected arson by an unknown individual, who allegedly initiated the fire outside the building,” Wong said.

He says the building was unoccupied at the time and no injuries have been reported.
Video of the blaze shows thick grey smoke billowing from the flames.
VFRS says the fire was only on the exterior of the building and was extinguished quickly.
The blaze is under investigation.
