A man was seriously injured after a stabbing in a gas station parking lot in Abbotsford Thursday, police say.

The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) says officers were called to the parking lot of the station, located on McCallum Road, shortly before 5:30 p.m.

“Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 49-year-old man, and immediately provided medical assistance,” police said.

“The victim sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.”

A 28-year-old man, who is known to police, was arrested a short distance from the scene, AbbyPD says. He remains in custody.

Police say there is no danger to the public related to this incident.
