Espe is the supervising producer for TV at CityNews Vancouver, where she manages a team of video journalists and produces the daily 6 p.m. broadcast.
A graduate of the University of British Columbia and Humber College, Espe started her journalism career at CityNews Toronto as an intern. There, she championed viewer-generated stories, researching news tips and creating original content for the program as an associate producer. She was also one of the winners of the Toronto team's 2019 Canadian Screen Award for Best Live News Special.
When Espe moved to the West Coast in 2018, she joined the CityNews Vancouver team as a web editor and reporter, and her work contributed to an Edward R. Murrow Regional Award. She then worked at CTV Vancouver, producing the consumer affairs segment McLaughlin On Your Side.
Espe returned to the CityNews team in 2021 in a leadership role, and serves on the RTDNA Canada board.
She lives in Kitsilano, and in her free time is an avid kayaker, hiker and runner.
