IHIT investigating death in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – IHIT is investigating what may be Surrey’s 13th homicide of the year.

Police say a man was found dead at a home on 136th Street near 110th Avenue around 8:30 p.m. yesterday.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and found the body inside a basement suite.

Few details have been released, and no arrests have been made.

Police have not yet confirmed the victim’s identity, but they believe the man was in his mid-fifties and known to them.

“The victim is believed to have met with foul play and an autopsy will be required to confirm his cause of death,” reads a release from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
