Iconic ‘Cambie Bar and Grill’ to remain open under new owners
VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It’s good news for “bar-flies” in Vancouver; the iconic ‘Cambie Bar and Grill’ is staying open.
The bar had been slated for closure in November after the building was sold as part of divorce proceedings.
However, Assistant General Manager Chloe Woolsey says they’ve been working with the new owners, and have now been able to secure a lease for at least the next decade.

“Everyone was cheering when we broke the news,” she says. “We consider ourselves a family here so everyone was pretty pumped that space has been saved.”
Woolsey adds after some back and forth they’ve been able to negotiate a long-term lease with the new owners.
“It’s been secured for at least the next ten years so we will continue to operate with hopefully some really positive changes.”
The Cambie claims to be Vancouver’s oldest bar. It celebrated its 120th anniversary in 2017.
