Man arrested after six hour police standoff in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – A man is under arrest following a standoff in Abbotsford Tuesday morning.

Police were called to a home on Everett Street just after 11 p.m. on Monday for reports of a man with a gun.

They had the home surrounded for about 6-and-a-half hours before the suspect came out. He was taken into custody without incident, police say, and will likely face a number of charges.

The suspect’s name has not been released.

Marshall Road between Old Yale and McMillan was closed during the standoff but is now open.
